FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about DCS Virtual Cockpit Server and iControl DCS

The device will not connect to the server

Ensure that the device is connected to a WiFi network that is on the same subdomain as the PC running the server software.

Ensure that there is not a firewall blocking network traffic. You can unblock the server executable or TCP port 22268.

Ensure that you have Bonjour Print Services for Windows installed on the PC.

If none of the above works, you can manually connect by specifying the IP address or computer name in the app settings screen.

I don't want the exported MFDs on my monitor, how can I get rid of them?

The MFDs and CDU are required to be exported to a monitor. This is a limitation of the simulation software. We don't like it any more than you!

As an alternative, you can try exporting the MFDs and CDU to a virtual display. This method is not supported by us. If you have any problems or questions, the community is very helpful and lots of people have gotten this method to work successfully for themselves.

How can I increase MFD frame rates?

Disable Aero Glass themes in Windows 7 or Vista. You can do this by deselecting the option for Allow Aero in the Options dialog.

Decrease the size of the exported MFDs. Recommended size is 300x300.

Ensure your device has a good quality connection to your wireless router.

Use the highest speed wireless connection available. iControl DCS can use in excess of 12Mbps of bandwidth at its peak. 802.11b is not sufficient, and even 802.11g can struggle to keep up sometimes!

Radio frequencies, switch updates, etc don't work during multiplayer games

The client (you) has no control over whether or not a server will allow the functions necessary for all functionality of iControl DCS to work in a multiplayer game. Many servers block script execution as an anti-cheating measure.

For server administrators, please see http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=48141 for more information on how to configure your server to allow all iControl DCS functionality.

Things don't work right after I updated the server/patched the game

Patches to the game, and updates to the server will sometimes require re-installation of the modified scripts.

It is always a good idea to re-install the scripts after downloading a new version of the server, or patching DCS World. You can do this via the Force Update option.

Occasionally patches to DCS World will break things that were previously working fine. You can keep up-to-date on whether or not patches are safe and certified by following us on twitter.

What happened to the Android version?

The android version is no longer available on the Google Play store and is no longer supported.

Why is iControl DCS not available in EU countries?

Due to the requirements of the Digital Services Act (DSA) regulations in the European Union, iControl DCS is currently not available for download or sale in EU countries.

The compliance requirements and associated costs for small software developers like us make it impractical to offer our products in the EU market at this time.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our EU customers and appreciate your understanding.
